Our organic almonds come from all around the Mediterranean. They’re harvested once a year in late summer when they’re ripe and ready.

CAREFULLY SELECTED

The farmers select good quality nuts from their harvest of different types of almonds. They are cleaned, checked and cracked at the very last minute to keep them fresh.

LIGHTLY ROASTED & GROUND

The almonds are lightly roasted to taste and ground. Grinding the nuts releases the natural oils, turning the almonds into a smooth paste and concentrating the almond flavour.

OUR RECIPE

For our drinks, we mix the almond paste with water and other ingredients, depending on the particular recipe. You can see all the ingredients we use on the individual product pages.

Soya
HARVESTED IN AUTUMN

Our organic soya beans are all grown within Europe. Our farmers start seeding the soya beans at the end of April. The harvest of soya beans depends on the local soil, the climate and the variety. In Europe, we harvest soya beans between mid September - October.

CAREFULLY SELECTED

We only select those varieties of soya (from a range of more than a thousand) that contain high quality proteins. We insist they are also ProTerra certfied, 100% traceable and non-GMO. Once they arrive with us, they undergo a strict quality test to ensure they meet our high standards.

DEHULLED & GROUND

Once tested, our high-quality soya beans are dehulled, thoroughly cleaned and ground into a paste-like base.

Coconut

Our organic coconuts are sourced from South East Asia. Coconuts are harvested year round – every three months to be exact. After harvest, every part of the coconut is used.

CAREFULLY SELECTED

Once harvested, our local farmers’ co-operative selects the coconuts for us and performs a strict quality control.

THE WHOLE COCONUT IS USED

The coconuts are dehulled and cracked.  We only use the coconut meat and water for our foods and drinks but nothing goes to waste. The other parts of the coconut are used to make coconut oil, to produce biodiesel or even to make furniture.

We use carefully selected organic oats grown in Europe. Oat is a very sustainable crop compared to other cereals. It has a low ecological footprint due to low carbon and land usage, limited use of fertilisers and the fact that no water is used for irrigation.

Once harvested, we select different varieties of oats which together create our signature mild, soft flavour.

DRY MILLED AND CONCENTRATED

After harvest, all the different varieties of oats are dry milled into a flour. Then, water and enzymes are added and the mix is heated to create a highly concentrated oat base/liquid.

Sustainable organic sourcing & harvesting

For our soya, oats, rice or almonds (or hazelnuts), we prefer working with small, local organic farmers in Europe instead of the big players in the global market. That way, we develop long lasting, personal relationships with our producers based on mutual respect and trust. They know they have a safe and secure future with us, we know we're getting the best of their harvest. When we do have to look worldwide for ingredients, such as cocoa, we make sure that our sources are sustainable. All the ingredients that we source are vegan, GMO-free and organic.
